The Double Scoop is a radical reimagining of the modern noserider longboard, blending enhanced turning performance with uncompromised lift and stability on the nose.
Inspired by water flow dynamics during a noseride, this design features a narrower, more responsive tail without sacrificing that all-important lift. After developing the Cherry Picker, Ben took its signature tail lift and concave and engineered a board with added manoeuvrability.
Key refinements include a pulled-back wide point, wider area in front of the fin, and a curvier pulled-in rounded square tail. Two outlines are available:
The Original – classic feel, wider hips, more tail curve.
The Dynamic – narrower hips, less curve, livelier ride.
Both incorporate a deck “spoiler”: a deep double concave through the back third that channels water to increase tail engagement. This creates downforce-style lift and speed control in critical noserides — inspired by Ben’s passion for Formula 1 aerodynamics, translated into surfboard hydrodynamics.
Step back from the nose and you’ll feel the benefits of the concave behind the fin and curvier tail: smooth, sharp, powerful turns.
The bottom shape echoes the Cherry Picker: nose-to-tail concave transitioning to a rolled V with a tri-hull tail for added control.
Construction:
Built in Thunderbolt Silver – a hand-laminated carbon/fibreglass layup with a Fused Cell EPS core and Carbon Flex Control System (no stringer needed). This setup delivers classic weight and flex with extended durability.
