Team rider Andrew ‘Cotty’ Cotton is best know for surfing the worlds biggest waves, but during Spring he set himself a new goal, the Xtratuf 3 Lakes Challenge.
Here’s what he had to say:
"Hi. I’m Andrew Cotton. When I’m not surfing some of the worlds toughest waves, I’m always seeking my next adventure. During this spring I’m attempting to take on the xtratuf challenge of swimming in the uk’s three most highest lakes.
• Red Tarn in The Lake District of England
• Loch Etchachan in the Cairngorms of Scotland and
• Llyn Llyffant in Wales’ Snowdonia national park.
What makes this extra tough is that we’ll be driving from North Devon in an all electric vehicle a total of 1’300 miles, walking over 40miles and climbing in some treacherous conditions. Temperatures are likely to be freezing and the weather will undoubtably be unpredictable. I’m going to attempt to do all of this across three back-to-back gruelling days, fighting fatigue and the cold."
