LEWIS PETTIT

We're excited to share that Lewis has joined us as a Tiki Team Rider! If you follow us on social media you’ll have almost certainly seen him on our page ripping in a Tiki wetsuit!

Not just a killer surfer, Lewis's knowledge and experience has been instrumental in our Tiki surfboard testing and his product feedback has been invaluable in the development process. We're stoked to be officially partnered up and cant wait to work with Lewis more moving forward!

Words from Lewis:

I am a transplant from frigid waters of Scotland to the balmy South West! I grew up following my father around the Scottish mountains learning to climb and understand wild environments. I moved to Aberdeen when I was 18 and was exposed to the North Sea surf scene. A trip to Thurso changed my life when I saw perfect waves for the first time and realised that surfing was going to become an obsession.

Surfing has been a dominant force ever since – I organised my life around a determination to surf as much as I could and progress my level as far as possible. I spent a good few years exploring the fickle coast of Scotland and finding new surf spots whilst undertaking my studies in psychology. I also became a complete surf geek, spending way too much time crunching forecast data and frothing over surfboard and wetsuit design.

I moved to the North Devon in 2014 – it was the only place in the UK where I could complete my training and still surf before and after work! I soon fell in love with the coastline and the waves down here as well as the local surf community. I feel really fortunate that I have the flexibility to surf most swells and I am happiest sneaking away for a dawnie on a cold winter morning at some fickle little corner of the coast.

In recent years I have been lucky enough to work with talented photographers in the area – it’s been such a rewarding journey to try to capture the beauty of the environment and those fleeting moments of perfection when all the elements come together. I am also really interested in the psychology of surfing and the interplay between risk and reward, obsession and addiction, and joy and disappointment.

I am excited to represent a core brand that is supporting the local surfing community! I’m really looking forward to working with Tiki on product development and documenting more salty adventures!
