YETI is known for making durable cool boxes, cool bags, insulated drinkware and outdoor accessories. Its products are designed for demanding outdoor use, including camping, fishing, beach trips and days on the road.
The right YETI cool box depends on how many people you are packing for, how long you will be away and whether portability or maximum storage is more important.
A smaller Roadie cooler is generally better for day trips, individual use or carrying in a car. Larger Roadie wheeled coolers are easier to transport when fully loaded, while Tundra coolers offer more capacity for group trips, camping and extended outdoor use.
Remember to leave room for ice rather than choosing a cooler based only on the amount of food and drink you want to carry. YETI commonly recommends an ice-to-contents ratio of approximately 2:1 by volume for maximum cooling performance.
Capacity varies considerably between models. For example, YETI states that the Roadie 24 can hold up to 33 standard 12 oz cans when packed without ice. The Roadie 48 can hold up to 76 cans and the Roadie 60 up to 98 cans when packed without ice.
Real-world capacity will be lower once ice, food or ice packs are added. Always check whether a quoted capacity means “cans only” or includes YETI’s recommended ice-to-contents ratio.
There is no single guaranteed ice-retention time for every YETI cooler. Performance depends on the cooler model, outside temperature, the amount and type of ice used, how often the lid is opened and whether the cooler was pre-chilled.

YETI does not give one universal timeframe because conditions vary between uses.
YETI commonly names drinkware using US fluid ounces rather than UK imperial fluid ounces. The product page will normally also display the approximate capacity in millilitres or litres.
Common YETI sizes convert approximately as follows:
10 oz – 296 ml
12 oz – 355 ml
18 oz – 532 ml
20 oz – 591 ml
26 oz – 769 ml
30 oz – 887 ml
36 oz – 1.06 litres
42 oz – 1.24 litres
46 oz – 1.36 litres
64 oz – 1.89 litres
Capacities are rounded, so always check the individual product specification before ordering.
Many YETI tumblers, stackable cups, travel mugs and straw mugs have a tapered base designed to fit standard car cup holders. However, compatibility varies between vehicles.
YETI states that its 25 oz, 35 oz and 42 oz Straw Mugs are designed for standard cup holders with a minimum diameter of approximately 3 inches, or 7.6 cm. Measure your cup holder before ordering if space is limited.
Some larger YETI bottles have a wider base and may not fit every cup holder. The Rambler 18 oz Bottle is described as fitting most standard cup holders.
Most YETI Rambler drinkware is dishwasher safe. Removable lid components and seals should be taken apart regularly to ensure they are cleaned thoroughly. Always check the care instructions for your specific product.
Some YETI lids and caps fit several products within the same range, but they are not universally interchangeable across all cups, mugs and bottles.
For example, the YETI Rambler Bottle Chug Cap is designed to fit Rambler Water Bottles. MagSlider Lids are available in different sizes, so you must select the correct lid size for your cup or mug.
Check the compatibility information on the product page before buying a replacement lid or cap.
