This board is like a longboard, but with the middle chopped out. With a wide flat tail and rounded nose, the mini mal shape has the most volume per size of any of the boards in the shorter Kore boards range, compared to the Fish and the Fun.

That makes this board super stable and easy to paddle, which is great for increasing your wave count, as you’re able to get into and up on many more waves. This in turn will help you improve with your surfing much quicker, as you’ll spend more time actually surfing and learning new skills and less time missing waves and getting frustrated, watching on as other people having are all the fun on the waves you want to be on.

The minimal is an especially great shape for someone who’s looking to move from learning on a foamie softboard to their first hard board, as it still offers loads of volume, but the hard rails will allow you to practice those early turns with more confidence, as you learn to dial in that extra responsiveness.
