South Point Surfboards
Designed Performance is the tagline for the new South Point boards. Each South Point board has been designed through collaboration between a world-class surfer and surfboard shaper. These rider/shaper teams have worked tirelessly in the development of the surfer's quiver of boards to create a specialised range that's duplicated with the South Point Epoxy Construction, SPEC+. The synergy of the masterfully designed board with the latest in epoxy technology creates performance, precisely Designed Performance.
For 2009 virtually every aspect of the South Point line has changed from previous models. This season you'll notice lighter weights, better edge and bottom contours and revised fin shapes and set ups...
Carl Schaper. For 2009 the ever-popular Schaper/Bonga range continues to raise the benchmark on high performance epoxy surfboard, by decreasing board weight and introducing a new 7'2" funboard. The Logreco range adds three retro modern, high performance, twin-finned fish with quad option.
Jeff Timpone. Jeff teamed up with big wave hell man and all round waterman Dave Kalama a few years back. Both live an Maui and spend much of their time working on the next frontier of design.
Keone Downing. The legendary Downing family joined South Point in 2008 with six incredible boards. The range features two 'Slippah' shortboards, three mid-sized 'Mini-Hune', and the 9'4" George Downing signature model.
